The Government of Belize with support from the National Oversight Committee has extended the State of Emergency for Belize for up to 60 days. During this time, Belize’s borders remain closed to visitors and Belizean nationals as per SI 65.
SI 65, 18. states, “(1) All ports of entry into and exit out of Belize are closed. (2) Every person entering or exiting Belize illegally commits an offence and, in addition to the imposition of mandatory quarantine, is liable to imprisonment for three months.”
SI 65, 19. further states “(1) No Belizean shall be allowed entry through any port of entry unless that Belizean– (a) is returning from abroad with proof of having received urgent medical care; (b) is required to be in Belize to assist health officials in Belize in urgent medical situations. And that person shall be subject to mandatory quarantine.”
The Attorney General has stated that this extension may not last the entire time. Should there be any further developments as it relates to international travel to and from Belize, we will update on our site.
Kindly direct questions regarding airline tickets to Belize to the respective carrier. Also, questions regarding quarantine measures can be directed the Ministry of Health.

Will there be a chance that the State of Emergency will be lifted before June 25, 2020. That is when I am supposed to arrive and stay until July 27, 2020. I will be staying in the Village of Santa Clara and working in the Village of San Pablo.

Hello Iam a travel agent and I have two Belizean nationals that are patiently waiting to return to belize . Having being their stay was in Los Angeles, and port of entry will be Chetumal, will they be required to self quarantine. Estimate travel would be June 27th, 2020

We have a trip planned for Aug to Belize city, we are coming for California. I’m trying find out more information about the isolation or quarantine. It’s not clear, but if travel is possible, we would have to go into quarantine? And if so for how long? We are only supposed to be there for 8 days.

There hasn’t been any update as it relates to further into the year. Currently the borders remain closed. The Government of Belize has a hopeful date later this year for reopening, however that hasn’t been set or official yet and we wait for an official update.
My grandson who has been studying in Canada for two years and has all required paper work has had to remain in Belize. When might he be allowed to return to Canada?. We were there in Feb. working at the orphanage and when we went to fly home they denied him. His home is now in Canada – not Belize but he is ‘stuck ‘there until we can fly him home. Any help would be appreciated.

We suggest contacting the embassy for assistance. We continue to follow the guidelines set by the Government of Belize as it relates to the State of Emergency. When the Government of Belize has an update with regard to international travel, we will post that information.
We are scheduled to return to the USA anytime before mid July. Will there be direct flights to Dallas? and if so, which airlines? Thank you.

We await word from the Government of Belize as it relates to reopening the International Airport. All carriers that fly to Belize will decide when those flights will resume once the airport has been reopened. For now, we remain closed and as soon as the Government of Belize has made a decision for July, we will be posting those updates.

Based on the PM’s communication it would seem that our July 10th trip from the US is not likely to happen. The airport seems to continue to remain closed until a later date. Can you confirm or shed some light? Thanks for the updates and communications.

I been planning my Wedding since last year for the week of Aug 17, 2020. I received the proper paperwork and going to consulate or embassy and submitting. I already had a minister set; no flowers, just a place on the sandy beach. No gathering of more then just the justice of the peace and wittinesses. A bit frustrated about now, LOL. I was planning within the month of vacationing applying for residency too permanently reside and live among the palm trees and blue waters. Can you advice and open the boarders. We still await directions from the Government of Belize on an opening date for the international airport. As soon as a date has been given, we will be posting on our website. There is a lot of speculation, however no official release has been given, so we look out for that.

Dear Sir, Re-max send me an Email concerning Airports reopening for Aug 15, 2020. Can you help with restrictions and quarantine if possible entering Belize. Don’t mind landing self quarantine for 30 days on beach hotel with blue water and palm trees. As you already know was planning my wedding for Aug 17, 2020 in Belize.
