The opening of the Caribbean Spiny Lobster Season is finally here, and if you’re a fan of all things lobster, you might already know what that means. It’s almost time for Belize Lobster Fest 2025. From the cayes to the southern coast, Belize is about to come alive this July in celebration of one of the region’s favorite crustaceans. Whether it’s your first time attending or your fifth, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Belize Lobster Fest celebrations.
What is Belize Lobster Fest
Held to commemorate the opening of the Caribbean Spiny Lobster Season, Belize’s annual Lobster Fest is a can’t-miss event. Its origins can be traced back to 1994, when the Caye Caulker community came together to throw a small fundraiser. Since then, Lobster Fest has evolved into a grand occasion that’s observed in multiple destinations across the country. With everything from beachside grills to block parties and pageants, it’s the summer event of the year and one that can be enjoyed by everyone.

San Pedro’s Two-Week Lobster Crawl
Kick things off in San Pedro and treat your taste buds to a fun Lobster Crawl. For two weeks, lobster enthusiasts can visit participating restaurants throughout town and indulge in special lobster-themed dishes. By doing so, they can also get themselves stamps inside their Lobster Fest Passport. Attendees who collect the most stamps have a chance to win one of several prizes at the end of the festival. The San Pedro Lobster Fest runs from July 1st to 12th, culminating in a grand block party on the final day.
Family Friendly Fun in Placencia
Head to Placencia on July 4th, 5th, and 6th for Lobster Fest with a side of beautiful beach views. The Placencia Lobster Fest will feature three days of live music, art, games, and, of course, plenty of mouthwatering lobster dishes. This year, the Placencia Village council will be celebrating 25 years of lobster fest fun, which means this year’s events are set to be bigger and better than ever.
Caye Caulker’s Three-Day Party
From July 18th to 20th, enjoy a weekend filled with good food and great music on Caye Caulker. The Caye Caulker Lobster Fest is one of the few times in the year when the island sheds its usual “go-slow” atmosphere for something a bit more upbeat. Expect a wide range of entertainment, including a long lineup of DJs and musical performances.
