Airport Development Project #30

Airport Development Project #30

FOREWORD

“In life, there will be highs and lows. The secret is to stay balanced through it all.” Jess Gartner’s wise counsel is so applicable, especially in the highly complex and very unpredictable aviation business.

2018 has been a year of development, expansion and growth at the Philip Goldson International Airport. We celebrated a little and learnt a lot.

Our Staff and partners take deep personal pride in managing these facilities, providing services and options that are friendly, competitive and safe.

We are proud and appreciative to have some of the most recognizable international carriers fly to and from Belize’s P.G.I.A.

On Saturday, 17th November 2018, with the support of the Belize Tourism Board, Mexico’s global airline, AeroMexico, commenced bi-weekly, non-stop services from Mexico City, Mexico to Belize. It is especially gratifying to launch direct flights between two neighbors who respect each other’s sovereignty as well as each other’s acknowledged regional and global interdependence.

Three days before Christmas, on 22nd December 2018, we will extend our warmest welcome to yet another carrier, Sun Country Airlines, a US-based low-cost carrier operating from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, offering weekly, non-stop services to Belize.

In 2019, our focus remains on passenger and customer experience, capacity and cooperation with our stakeholders, as together we excite curiosities, ignite passions and build memories. Along with the Aviation Development Committee, we eagerly anticipate accommodating and welcoming additional carriers to one of the world’s leading destinations.

We all accept that these are exciting times in our world. Embracing these huge opportunities decisively and smartly requires our adherence to Albert Pike’s refreshing insight: “That which causes us trial shall yield us triumph and that which makes our hearts ache shall fill us with gladness. The only true happiness is to learn, to advance and to improve, which could not happen unless we had commenced with error, ignorance and imperfections. We must pass through the darkness to reach the light.”

On behalf of the Belize Airport Concession Company Limited, may you, your Families and colleagues share a wonderful, magical and safe Holiday Season and many successful years ahead.

With friendship
