The first 8” layer of lean concrete is being placed, to be followed by a second and final 14” layer of pavement quality concrete. This component of the Project is scheduled to be completed in April, 2026. Upon completion, there will be access to the western end of the runway via taxiway Alpha and the eastern end of the runway via taxiway Delta.
Building
A 42,000 sq. ft. eastern expansion to the Airport Terminal Building is ongoing. This component is being undertaken in three parts in order to minimize disruption to existing operations. The floor slab for the first and substantial part of this expansion of approximately 32,000 sq. ft. is now completed and plumbing for new restrooms underway. Steel structure is now being installed. Foundation piles have been driven for the second part of the expansion of approximately 10,000 sq. ft. This component of the Project is scheduled to be completed in April, 2026.
Car Park
Works are also underway for a new eastern car park for approximately 270 parking slots. Unsuitable materials have been removed and imported fill placed and compacted. Geotechnic fabric is being placed with the final course base materials prior to placement of hot mix, to be followed by drainage, curb walls, surface markings, directional signs, lighting, new security booth, etc.
Refurbishment
Refurbishment of the existing Airport Terminal Building is being undertaken after operating hours. Immigration and Customs Halls have been improved; Terminal #1 has been enhanced; landside canopy is undergoing an uplifting; works are soon to commence in the waving gallery and Departure Hall, to be followed by Terminal #2. These works are ongoing and scheduled to be completed in December, 2026.
A part of this component includes a multi-phase installation of solar panels for an alternative source of energy. A trial phase has been completed with the installation of 100 solar panels; a second phase of 380 solar panels is to commence in June, 2025.

Fire Equipment
Discussions are ongoing between Oshkosh and Airport Management for the purchase of a new state-of-the-art Oshkosh Fire Tender Stricker 3000. A draft of equipment specifications is being reviewed following a visit to Oshkosh in 2024 by Airport Management. An order is expected to be placed by end of 2025.
Others
There are many other sub-components to the current Airport Improvements Project. Defective concrete slabs on the entire existing apron and taxiways are to be replaced and or repaired. Existing shoulders on Taxiway Alpha are to be completely replaced and new shoulders are to be constructed for Taxiways Bravo and Charlie, for a total of 220,000 sq. ft. Remedial works are to be completed on the runway to seal reflective surface cracks. These works are scheduled to be undertaken at the completion of the apron and taxiway components or around mid-2026.
Note
Even though Management and contractors are endeavoring to complete components in a timely manner, these are major works taking place within an operationally active environment. Therefore, estimated schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational requirements, compliance issues, safety and security, among others.
