Airport Development Project #29

Airport Development Project #29

FOREWORD

“In life, there will be highs and lows. The secret is to stay balanced through it all.” Jess Gartner’s wise counsel is so applicable, especially in the highly complex and very unpredictable aviation business.

Of course, 2018 is fast unfolding. Early in the year, we had inspectors from Transport Canada and United States’ Transportation Security Administration conduct thorough examinations of our PGIA operations. Through these international inspections, the Belize Airport Concession Company builds reputation, momentum and stories – all geared to create a future full of promise for enhanced commerce and safety, for enchanting encounters, for shaping memorable impressions.

Each year the PGIA expands its footprint, broadening its responsibilities, accommodating rising passenger numbers while improving its systems, personnel, facilities and services. Through our on-going infrastructural, certification or professional projects, we aim to build on our enduring record of success, forging strong connections for our country and people. Our acquisition of an ambulance improves CFR’s readiness.

Important moments in the lives of our employees were celebrated on Wednesday, 30th May 2018 during our Employees’ Awards Ceremony at the Belize Biltmore Plaza where we recognized and honored their diligent work. Congratulations to both recipients of our Employee of the Year Award, Mrs. Francelia Manzanero and Mr. Herry Acosta, and to the three airport honorees: Mr. Naftali Requena, Mr. Eden Holland and Mr. Leo Skeen.

While the romance with Belize’s rise can be seductive, its achievements exceed assumed limitations because ours is a good destination. This trajectory contends with other substantial challenges.

In addition to fulfilling our corporate citizenship responsibility, as part of our social outreach, we continue partnering with the Ladyville Village Council in the construction of the football field concrete bleachers, we will commence our Summer Jobs initiative momentarily, and we will support all our municipal governments with their summer jobs programs.

As a proud member of this vibrant Ladyville community, we invite your valuable feedback.

With friendship,

Jorge L. Espat
