Authorities at the P.G.I.A. were alerted around 8:30 am local time to a hijacking of a Tropic Air flight Cessna Caravan V3HIG from Corozal to San Pedro with 14 passenger and 2 crews.
A full emergency was declared with all emergency agencies responding immediately.
The aircraft circled in random directions until finally landing safely at the P.G.I.A. at approximately 10:12 am.
The aircraft came to a stop on the runway and all passengers on board were accounted for by emergency personnel, with various injuries reported.
The injured were flown to a local hospital for treatment after all passengers were examined.
Other passengers are being questioned in order to confirm details of the incident.
The hijacker is now being reported deceased.
